THEORY

The anthology «Evolution Haute Couture: Art and Science in the Post-Biological Age» is aimed at collective and interdisciplinary comprehension of the evolutionary potential inherent in the main technological trends of the 21st century — robotics, bio- and genetic engineering, and nanotechnology. Each of these trends as much as possible raises the problems of traditionally existing borders of the beginning and the end of human existence, demarcation of norms and pathologies, differentiation between the «self» and the «other», moral and immoral, legal and criminal. Therefore significant place in the research is given to the critical analysis of technological tendencies that provide flexibility both of the species homo sapiens and various cultural (artistic) strategies, that suggest their ways of relations between the technological reality and a human being under conditions of intensive impact of new technologies.
