George Gessert (USA) / Biography
HYBRIDS

I began breeding plants in 1979. The plants that I have worked with most extensively are irises, streptocarpuses, and poppies. My primary concern has been to see what happens. I pursue a breeding project as long as it is aesthetically interesting. The on-going question is: what makes one plant more aesthetically interesting than another?
