Julie Freeman (United Kingdom) / Biography
THE LAKE

From the hypnotic movements of fish swimming in a lake we enter a fluid, underwater world. The Lake is a site-specific work that combines live tracking of random natural patterns with music and animation. Fish are electronically tagged and their movements are used to compose enveloping soundscapes and transient visuals. Crossing the boundaries between art, nature and technology, Julie Freeman transforms complex scientific processes into an audio visual experience. Exposing afresh the magic of the natural systems that surround us, we discover new previously hidden worlds.
