Remko Scha (b.1945, Eindhoven, the Netherlands)
Artists, researchers. They collaborate in the framework of the Institute of Artificial Art Amsterdam project which pursues the automatization of art production. Elsenaar and Scha’s artistic practice focuses on performance, audio and video installation. They develop new concepts of Internet-radio and conduct experiments pertaining to the automatization of radio broadcasting. Their lectures on the Human Facial Expression project were widely presented at various international contemporary art forums in Europe and the USA. Their paper Electric Body Manipulation as Performance Art: A Historical Perspective featured in Leonardo Music Journal won the 2003 Leonardo Award of Excellence.

Arthur Elsenaar is an electrical engineer. In the 1980s, he built radio-transmitters for many pirate radio and TV stations throughout the Netherlands. Between 1989-1993, he studied at the Fine Arts Academy Minerva in Groningen (the Netherlands), where he developed radar-controlled interactive sculptures. Scha has organized a number of anarchistic music performances as member of The New Electric Chamber Music Ensemble and The Machines, his own electric guitar band.
